Fabric: base of mortar, marble or high grade limestone
Shape: hollowed interior, articulated base, smooth walls in
Decoration: evidence of re-cutting for a secondary use
Dimensions: PH 18cm, approx 29.0cm diam
Remarks: from "Special Collection" cf. SF0281. Hollowed-out section is not centered. SF0281 is smaller in diam (23.0cm). A number of unpublished mortars are in storage at the Sparta Museum. Slightly larger in scale, though similar in configuration or hollowed out limestone CL tomb markers.
