Semi-coarse gritty rather micaceous
sandy buff biscuit, well smoothed.Ovoid.
Horizontal rim; short neck; short hori-
zontal bridged spout; 2 small round
horizontal handles below rim; flat bot-
tom.Decorated with lustrous red & dull
black paint: on upper surface of rim,
red scale pattern with black strokes,
FM 70.4a; on side of rim, apparently 3
broad red strokes alternating with 5

narrow black ones; scant traces of red paint on spout and
handle; black cross hatching on neck; on body (from top),
narrow zone of red running spirals with central fill of
black circle and dots & black ivy leaves between spirals,
narrow red band above & below; narrow zone of black cross-
hatching; broad zone of red running spirals with red circle
& black dots in center, black cross-hatching filling space
between tangents, black triangle with dots between spirals
at top, 2 vertical rows of black ivy leaves between spirals
at bottom, broad red band below; row of small black filled
circles; broad red band; design in black, much worn, possibly
wavy line; broad red band; wide zone of broad red bands run-
ning obliquely; broad red band around foot.
