1Study in the Museum of Hora and geophysical
researches at the Palace of Nestor were conducted under the terms of a permit
issued by the Greek Archaeological Service: UPPO/ARC/A3/F2/27764/407/11-16-97.
We are grateful to the director of the American School of Classical Studies at
Athens, W.D.E. Coulson, and to his staff, especially Mrs. Maria Pilali, for
their help in acquiring necessary permissions. We also thank the director of
the Ephoreia of Olympia, Mrs. Xeni Arapoyianni, and her staff, especially Ms.
Litsa Malapani, for once again facilitating our research. The head guard of
the Hora Museum and the archaeological site of the Palace of Nestor, Mr.
Dimitris Kayias, also deserves special recognition for the extraordinary
hospitality he has extended to our staff.
