Fine tan biscuit with buff surface. Deco-
rated in red/brown paint. Baggy. Ledge
about 1/3 down. Horizontal lip with edge
very small ledge. Bottom slightly convex.
Decoration: Rim painted inside and out.
Entire body covered with scale pattern,
with many dots in each scale. Bottom
covered by large rosette. Each petal
formed by 2 curved lines within each other,
and short stamen. Center indistinct, but
appears to be circle with dot in middle.
Paint very faded%;B pot generally in friable
condition.

Scale pattern cf.FM 70:6, but here with fill of dots in-
stead of sacral ivy. For dotted fill, cf.FM 62:8 and
K.2525, but these have tri curved arch pattern, which this
vase does not. Minoan shape, but poss. of Cycladic manu-
facture (much gloden mica). E.M.
