Fairly fine pinkish-tan biscuit with a
few large pebble particles. Surface wel:
smoothed & decorated with lustrous black
paint, fired dark brown to black. Inside
entirely covered except for narrow res-
erved stripe just inside lip. Lower body
entirely coated, with 3 narrow stripes

handle from solid zone of lower body.
with parallel stripe on either side. Main decorative
motif in handle zone: 8 concentric circles on either
side of triglyph panel consisting of broad band of cross-
hatching between 3 vertical stripes on either side.
Developed proto-geometric. Middle to 2nd half 10th Cent.
Not later than 900. Attic, possibly Athenian. E.L.S.
