| 1. Arrange for three letters of recommendation from former teachers or supervisors to be sent directly to the Department at the address above. Note that there is no form for these, they are simply letters. | |
| 2. Arrange for official transcripts from previous institutions to be sent directly to the Department. | |
| 3. Submit your GRE scores (and if an international student, your TOEFL scores). These are sent directly from the testing agency to the University of Cincinnati. | |
| The following can be sent to the Department in a single package: | |
| 4. A letter of application containing a brief intellectual autobiography describing your goals and professional objectives. | |
| 5. Two additional forms (please download and print): •A course form listing all courses taken in ancient and foreign languages. • MA/PhD program for which you are applying |

| 6. A piece of written work (20-40 pages) which demonstrates your ability to research, assemble, evaluate, and present a scholarly argument. |
