  • DM Raymond Bogaert
The passing of Raymond Bogaert  was announced today on the Papy-list by W. Clarysse:

Belgian papyrologists are doubly in mourning as also Raymond Bogaert died last week. He spent most of his scientific life working on ancient banks, from Babylonia to Greece and Egypt, and received only last year a Festschrift  "Pistoi dia tèn technèn. Bankers, Loans and Archives in the Ancient World", Stud. Hell. 44. Bogaert was a great scholar but also a pleasant colleague. We will certainly miss him.

There is a brief biography and bibliography of Prof. Bogaert here.
