April 15 - "Greek Oracles, Delphi, and Beyond" Fath Auditorium, Cincinnati Museum of Art, 7:00 p.m. Dr. John Hale, University of Louisville Please join us for this special event with the AIA's Charles Eliot Norton Memorial Lecturer, Dr. John Hale, who will discuss his interdisciplinary research on the oracle at Delphi and other sanctuaries. In 2007, Dr. Hale packed the house at the University of Cincinnati and dazzled the audience with his geoarchaeological approach to the mystique of the Delphic oracle. A vibrant and engaging speaker, Dr. Hale has conducted fieldwork in Portugal, Greece, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and in our own Ohio River Valley. He is best known for his work on Viking longships and underwater archaeology and his pioneering research on the application of accelerator mass spectrometry for radiocarbon dating ancient mortars. We hope you will also join us for a reception following the lecture. The Norton lecture honors the founder and first president of the AIA, Charles Eliot Norton.
